About the wine
Claire and Florent Bejon live in Saint-Germain-Sur-Vienne, a tiny village just 15 minutes from the town and vines of Chinon (until 2016 excluded under the appellation). They work 5 hectares of Cabernet France and a microscopic amount of Chenin Blanc scattered across numerous parcels, all vinified as its own cuvée.
2 x Pain-Perdu 2023 is their largest lieu-dit from the right bank of the Vienne. 40 year old cabernet franc planted on yellow clay. Whole clusters aged in steel without extended élevage for an energetic full fruit cabernet Franc.
2 x Pichrocole 2020 is a lieu-dit of Cabernet franc around 30 years old on the left bank. Heavy clays and limestone with flint with southern exposition. Categorized by its strong mineral quality, dense spice and elegance. 18 months of elevage in sandstone amphora and barrique.
2 x Saint-Germain 2022 consists of four small parcels of Cabernet planted in the 50s on clay and flint with a small amount of sand. A solar cuvée, chalky, elegant and powerful. 8 months of elevage in sandstone amphora and barrique.
